Production at TVX Gold’s Casa Berardi gold mine in northwestern Quebec has been halted following a walkout by 220 employees.
Members of Casa Berardi Syndicat des Metallos d’Amerique union rejected the company’s latest offer. TVX has been in negotiations with union representatives since December, and a conciliator is being sought.
TVX controls a 60% interest in the mine, with Golden Knight Resources holding the remaining 40%.
