Stratmin finds second client

A second buyer has been lined up by Stratmin Inc. (ME) for its Quebec graphite concentrates.

The company says an agreement in principle has been reached with C. ITOH Ceramics Corp. of Japan whereby the latter will buy 5,000 tonnes of concentrate annually over a 5-year period, with 5-year renewals possible. Prices will be negotiated annually.

Stratmin says it will recognize C. ITOH as the sole direct purchaser of Stratmin’s concentrates for distribution within Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

The Quebec company recently announced the sale of 14,000 tonnes of concentrates to Asbury Graphite Mills Inc. of Asbury, New Jersey.

Stratmin plans to process the ore from its graphite deposit, located at Mont- Laurier, Que., at Asbury’s mill at nearby Notre-Dame-du- Laus. Stratmin also wants to build a mill on its Mont-Laurier property.

Initial shipments of the concentrates by Stratmin to C. ITOH and Asbury are planned for this month.
