Stratabound Minerals (ASE) continues to receive encouraging results as it drills downdip from known mineralized zones on its Taylor Brook project, southwest of Bathurst, N.B.
An intersection of 41.8 metres of “peripheral” sulphides (disseminated to stringer-style mineralization) was recorded in drill hole 96-18, and hole 96-19 cut 19.1 metres of stringers, disseminations, and massive and semi-massive bodies of pyrite with pyrrhotite, sphalerite and galena.
The most promising intersection at 96-18 had a length of 2.3 metres grading 1.29% zinc, 0.69% lead and 18.5 grams silver per tonne. The best intersection in 96-19 was 4 metres long and contained 1.45% zinc, 0.65% lead and 27 grams silver.
Pulse-electromagnetic surveys in 96-19 and previously drilled 95-16 indicate an off-hole conductive body coincident with a gravity anomaly found in a previous survey. The anomaly is believed to have a sheet-like shape and to be on the same stratigraphic horizon as the known mineralization.
Additional staking has increased the size of the property to 45.5 sq. km, and further drilling is planned.
