Toronto-based Storimin Exploration has received results from the first two drill holes of its summer exploration program in the Moss Twp. joint venture project 70 miles west of Thunder Bay, Ont.
A recent 40,000-ft drill program has already indicated the possibility of over 800,000 tons grading about 0.20 oz in a zone that is over 1,400 ft in length and open both along strike and to depth.
These latest holes were drilled from shore in an effort to investigate an excellent intersection (41 ft of 0.233 oz gold per ton) in a hole drilled from the ice in late March.
According to the company, Hole 87-30 encountered several sections of sub ore grade ranging from 0.04 to 0.08 oz but they appear to have missed the main target. Hole 87-31 intersected 13 ft of 0.31 oz from 301 to 314 ft down the hole.
President Al Storey said this hole will be more thoroughly and effectively drilled from the ice next winter. Meanwhile, the drill program continues in several target areas on the property.
Storimin, in conjunction with its joint venture partner Tandem Resources, has completed plans to carry out a $4-million underground program which is expected to start later this month.
Initial plans call for a ramp plus 1,500 ft of drifting and crosscutting to investigate and bulk sample ore zones of the 200 ft and 380 ft level.
