The summer stage of the program began July 15 and is budgeted at $700,000.
Previously identified mineralization is hosted in westerly trending, northerly dipping hornblende units that are conformable with the enclosing Archean-aged, hornblende-rich gneisses. The principal unit of mineralization measured between 50 and 200 metres thick and has been traced east and west of Ferguson Lake over a strike length of 9 km.
In the 1950s, a subsidiary of
Starfield’s summer program will consist of geological mapping of known mineralization and further geophysical surveys aimed at extending the 9-km-long zone along strike towards the east and west.
The company has also budgeted a minimum of 3,000 metres of diamond core drilling to test the mineralized zone at depth. Additional drilling to complete the $1.2 million phase-two program will be undertaken if weather conditions permit. The summer portion of the program is budgeted at less than $800,000.
