The work focused on the Dabokrom Shaft zone, one of three structures that are related to a large shear system that strikes in a northeasterly direction and measures 1 km in length.
Results from the 12-hole program are as follows:
- hole 4 cut 10 metres averaging 3.03 grams gold per tonne, starting at a down-hole depth of 21 metres;
- hole 48 cut 11 metres of 4.31 grams starting at 68 metres down-hole;
- hole 52 cut 7 metres of 6.72 grams starting at 73 metres down-hole; and
- hole 53 cut 3 metres of 8.03 grams starting at 17 metres down-hole.
Eight holes exhibited multiple mineralized horizons. For example, hole 52 cut 5 metres of 13.59 grams gold starting from the surface, and this was followed by two 1-metre intercepts that assayed 1.06 and 2.24 grams gold starting at down-hole depths of 22 and 43 metres.
St. Jude has an option to earn a 65% interest in the project. Hwini-Butre Minerals, a local subsidiary of a European mining company, holds 25%, while the government of Ghana holds the remainder.
