Exploration results compiled by St. Genevieve Resources (TSE) before it dropped its option on the Wrightbar Mines (ME) property are being examined by a consulting geologist contracted by Aur Resources (TSE). Geologist Pierre Boileau is looking at a package containing results from several wedged holes completed before St. Genevieve abandoned its right to earn a 50% stake in the southern end of the property. In a bid to intersect deep massive sulphides, like the ones discovered in nearby Louvicourt Twp. by Aur and Societe Miniere Louvem (TSE), St. Genevieve spent $800,000 of the $1.5 million needed to exercise the option. While St. Genevieve intersected the Quebec-Manitou copper zone containing 536,350 tons of grade 1.31% copper at vertical depths of 1,500-2,300 ft., it didn’t succeed in finding a new deposit. In a letter to Wrightbar, the Montreal company apologized for being unable to come up with the discovery hole. But geologists familiar with Val d’Or, Que., are convinced that the Montreal company may have been premature in dropping the option. Boileau is expected to report back to Wrightbar by the end of this week.
