St Andrew increases stock mine reserves

Because of mining experience and diamond drilling results, St Andrew Goldfields (TSE) has announced a significant increase in reserves for the West zone at its Stock mine east of Timmins, Ont. As of Aug. 31, possible reserves increased from 100,000 tons grading 0.14 oz. gold per ton to 462,000 tons at 0.2 oz.

Recent production from the West zone of 18,155 tons at 0.36 oz. gold was considerably higher than expected from previous drill indications. Favorable results from the West zone prompted the company to estimate an increase in gold production for 1992 to 36,000 oz. from 33,400 oz. Exploration and development of the West zone is continuing along strike and downdip.
