Diamond drilling at the Taylor gold property in the Matheson area of northeastern Ontario has returned high-grade gold values for St Andrew Goldfields (SAS-T).
The company is concentrating its efforts on the West Porphyry zone, where results from three new holes were recently released. Highlights from hole 87 include 16.7 metres (from 451.1 to 467.8 metres) averaging an uncut 13.5 grams gold per tonne, including six smaller, higher-grade zones, from which the two most promising values returned were 16.19 grams gold over 13.2 metres (from 454.6 to 467.8 metres) and 143.34 grams gold over 0.85 metres (from 463.8 to 464.65 metres). The one zone intersected in hole 85 yielded 32.2 grams gold over 0.55 metre. In hole 87, the best intersection returned 36.7 grams gold over 3 metres (from 455.5 to 458.5 metres), of which the first 1.5 metres yielded 61.4 grams gold, while the last 1.5 metres graded 12 grams gold.
At last report, the West Porphyry zone was calculated to host minable reserves of 248,658 tonnes grading 7.34 grams gold, which are contained in a resource estimated at 1.27 million tonnes grading 9.6 grams gold. The zone has been tested over a width of 152 metres, a length of 457 metres and an average thickness of 7.6 metres. It remains open to the south and southwest.
Assays are still pending for sections of drill holes 84 to 87.
