Continued drilling by St Andrew Goldfields (SAS-T) at its Taylor gold mine in the Matheson area of northeastern Ontario is confirming and extending the West Porphyry zone a further 120 metres westward.
The best intersections encountered in three infill holes were: 1.5 metres (from 441.7 to 443.2 metres) grading 54.1 grams gold per tonne in hole 98; 4.8 metres (from 449.6 to 454.4 metres) of 5.2 grams and 2.9 metres (from 460.5 to 463.4 metres) of 5.1 grams in hole 99; and 14.2 metres (from 433.6 to 447.8 metres) of 9.7 grams in hole 100.
Of the five stepout holes, highlights include: 1.5 metres (from 374 to 375.5 metres) grading 8.9 grams gold in hole 94; and 2.3 metres (from 517.3 to 519.6 metres) of 6.7 grams in hole 95.
At last report, proven and probable resources in the West Porphyry zone stood at 250,000 tonnes grading 7.34 grams gold within an overall resource of 1.3 million tonnes of 9.6 grams gold.
Later this month, St Andrew will recommence drilling, with up to five surface diamond drills at Taylor and one drill at the Hislop property, 24 km east of Taylor along the Destor-Porcupine fault.
The Stock mine, 10 km west of Taylor, is being dewatered to allow for underground drilling of the Central zone from the 305-Metre level.
Shareholders recently approved the consolidation of one new share for five old shares, effective in late June.
