Southwestern delivers more Boka gold (May 31, 2004)

Vancouver — Southwestern Resources (SWG-T) reports satisfactory gold values from drilling at the Boka project in China’s Yunnan province.

The grid-based program, which is focused on the Boka 1 South zone, returned the following highlights:

— Hole 29 — 94.6 metres grading 2.4 grams gold per tonne (starting at 13.4 metres), which includes 15.9 metres grading 5 grams gold per tonne;

— Hole 30 — 59.65 metres of 3.1 grams gold (starting at 17.75 metres), including 27 metres of 4.8 grams;

— Hole 31 — 51.2 metres of 4.32 grams (starting at 3.3 metres), including 26.2 metres of 6.9 grams.

The recently discovered Boka 7 Lower zone has been identified in outcrop over a thickness of 120 metres and a strike length exceeding 1,000 metres. Southwestern Resources views this target as high priority and will be advancing it to drill stage.

Gold mineralization at Boka occurs in multiple zones and is hosted in carbonaceous shales associated with quartz-carbonate and quartz-carbonate-sulphide stockworks, quartz veins and massive sulphides.
