Southern Peru defers offering

Peruvian copper producer Southern Peru Copper has deferred the public offering of its common stock. The planned offering was a secondary offering by three of the company’s shareholders.

Southern Peru is owned 52.3% by Asarco (NYSE), 20.7% by a subsidiary of the Marmon group, 16.3% by Phelps Dodge Overseas Capital and 10.7% by Newmont Mining (NYSE).
