The presidents of two large international gold producers will speak at the 1994 Canadian Mining Symposium scheduled for Sept. 22 and 23 in Toronto.
American Barrick Resources’ Robert Smith will speak at the Sept. 22 luncheon and Placer Dome’s John Willson will address the luncheon on the following day.
The symposium, subtitled “Competing on a World Stage,” will feature discussions on topics such as environmental standards and competitiveness, commodities, the global market and trends in international mining taxation. Co-chairmen are Cominco’s Richard Mundie and Price Waterhouse’s Robert Parsons. The registration cost is $1,171.65 per person.
