Sirius reports that it recently completed a preliminary sampling program along a 10,000-ft stretch of Selena Creek and found significant, fine gold in the gravels tested.
The highest result reported was $31.20 worth of gold per cu yd of gravel, assuming a gold price of $440(C) per oz. Other significant samples yielded $13.89 and $6.19 in gold per cu yd in two other test pits. The values reported are preliminary as gold in the tailings must also be assessed. To date, gold values have ranged from a low of $0.07 per cu yd at the apparent edge of the gold bearing gravels to a high of $32.20.
The auriferous gravels remain open in both directions along the creek with a potential volume of several million cubic yards indicated, the company says.
Under the management of Wright Engineers, several bulk samples are being processed and assayed. Upon completion of this work and evaluation of all the data gathered in the reconnaissance program, the partners will announce results of a final report.
Based on the preliminary results so far, Sirius says a fill-in sampling program will be initiated next spring to follow up the earlier results.
