Vancouver – Silver Standard Resources (SSO-V) has increased its silver resources to just over 403 million ounces measured and indicated and another 446 million inferred, in the ground. This represents a 40% and a 25% increase from last year’s resource figures, respectively. Confirming its faith in the future for silver, the company has purchased the physical metal during the latest downturn in the market to hold 1.95 million oz. of silver.
The Manatial Espejo deposit hosts 4.8 million tons grading 7.69 oz. silver and 0.13 oz. gold for a contained 18.6 million oz. silver and 320,000 oz. gold in the measured and indicated category. Inferred resources at Manatial Espejo total 1.76 million tons of 7.54 oz. silver and 0.11 oz. gold for 6.6 million oz. silver and 95,000 oz. gold contained.
The company’s wholly-owned Bowden’s silver project in New South Wales in Australia has 52.46 million tons grading 1.51 oz. silver per ton for a total of 79.5 million oz. silver in the measured and indicated resource category and another 14.7 million tons grading 1.19 oz. silver for a total of 17.6 million oz. silver inferred.
