International Silver Ridge Resources (VSE) is proposing to bulk-sample 5,000 tons from the Iron Colt project in the historic Rossland camp of southern B.C.
The company has acquired a half interest in the gold project, which it now operates. It plans to process the bulk sample at its Standard mill at Slocan, 60 miles from Iron Colt.
Silver Ridge President Barry Wilson said milling should be relatively simple, with good gold recoveries. The company’s mill was rebuilt in the 1980s to handle custom ores, both sulphide and non-sulphide.
Previous work on the Iron Colt was carried out by Vangold Resources (VSE), which retains a half interest. This work included an underground program to gain access to a group of high-grade gold intersections.
Since then, Silver Ridge completed 220 ft. of raise from the face of Vangold’s advance, for a total raise length of 300 ft. Current plans include subdrifting and test-holing to obtain a bulk sample for test-milling and marketing, and to block out reserves.
New access will be gained by rehabilitating 1,000 ft. of the nearby Alberta tunnel and by a new 170-ft.-long drift leading from it. This would reach (at a similar elevation) exposed gold-bearing sulphide mineralization and enable a mining plan to be developed.
