Silver Butte, American Fibre get mixed results from SIB

The best hole of nine recently drilled on the SIB claims in the Eskay Creek region of northwest British Columbia returned a 9.8-ft. intersection grading 0.23 oz. gold and 54.9 oz. silver per ton from 111.55-121.39 ft.

Owned equally by Silver Butte Resources (VSE) and American Fibre (VSE), the SIB claims are adjacent and south of the advanced Eskay Creek polymetallic deposit.

Interest in this year’s program was triggered by a hole drilled at the end of the 1990 program which intersected 34.9 ft. grading 0.43 oz. gold and 50.4 oz. silver on the SIB claims.

The 1991 program is to include about 25,000 ft. of diamond drilling. So far, 14 holes totalling about 5,500 ft. have been completed.

Other selected results released from the first nine holes drilled on the property include: 55.77 ft. grading 0.064 oz. gold and 0.17 oz. silver; 28.54 ft. of 0.050 oz. gold and 0.18 oz. silver and 10.5 ft. of 0.023 oz. gold and 0.09 oz. silver.

The nine holes were drilled to explore the Lulu anomaly and encountered mudstone previously identified as being the most likely host rock of precious metal mineralization on the SIB property. Only the mudstone intervals of these nine holes have been assayed to date, and the remainder of the core from the holes is being assayed.
