A recently completed drill hole on the Verneuil Twp. gold property of Freewest Resources’ (TSE) in northern Quebec appears to have intersected significant gold mineralization.
Hole VP92-10, drilled to test the Toussaint shear zone, cut 15.9 ft. grading 0.31 oz. gold
per ton.
Mineralization occurs in sheared and altered intermediate tuffs along the footwall contact with a gabbro sill. Surface grab samples from the Toussaint shear zone have previously returned values up to 21.76 oz. gold. The zone remains open along strike and downdip.
Two other structures were also drill tested, but results have not been released.
Freewest plans to further test the Toussaint structure with a second phase of diamond drilling scheduled to begin shortly.
Freewest is earning a 50% interest in the 44-claim property from Golden Tag Resources (VSE) and Gold Hawk Resources (ASE).
Golden Tag also holds or can earn an interest in 324 claims in the immediate area surrounding the Verneuil Twp. property.
In other news, it is expected that Minnova (TSE) will soon continue drilling on Freewest’s Benoit Twp. gold property where work to date has outlined 3.3 million tons grading 0.076 oz. gold, 0.21 oz. silver and 0.148% copper.
