Drilling is under way on the Promontorio property in Mexico’s Chihuahua state.
Sierra Nevada Gold (VSE) has thus far drilled two holes on the Mina Vieja zone.
Hole P95-01 returned 140 ft. of 0.46% copper, plus 0.058 oz. gold and 0.68 oz. silver per ton. Included in this intersection was a 25-ft. interval grading 1.47% copper, plus 0.12 oz. gold and 1.75 oz. silver.
Hole P95-02 intersected 60 ft. grading 0.34% copper, plus 0.045 oz. gold and 0.48 oz. silver, including a 15-ft. interval grading 1.2% copper, 0.15 oz. gold and 1.48 oz. silver.
A third hole, drilled on the Veta Grande zone, intersected massive sulphides containing copper, lead and zinc mineralization; a 42-ft. section has been sent for assay.
The Mina Vieja and Veta Grande mineralization is controlled by two fault-fracture systems associated with high silicification and high sulphides.
