Privately owned Siderock Gold is planning a 30-hole overburden drilling program this winter on its Joe 3 & 4 claim group situated about eight miles east of the former San Antonio gold mine in Manitoba. Siderock says it has found gold mineralization with grades as high as 39 grams gold per tonne over 0.3 metres along the continuation of the San Antonio mine formation. The mineralization occurs in quartz- carbonate veinlets near the contact of volcanic and granitic rocks.
The company also plans to conduct a program of trenching over areas where grab samples have yielded anomalous gold values.
To date, Siderock has carried out a program of preliminary prospecting, line cutting, soil sampling and VLF surveying. A total of 43 grab samples have also been collected from outcrops on the property near Wallace Lake.
