Shore sizes up Star kimberlite (October 15, 2001)

Junior Shore Gold (SGF-V) has recovered more stones from its Star kimberlite project, 60 km east of Prince Albert, Sask.

A total of 63 macrodiamonds and 166 microdiamonds (here defined as being less than 0.5 mm in all directions) were liberated from 842 kg of core. The core represents holes 20 and 23, the final two in a second phase of drilling.

Since 1996, Shore has recovered 1,477 carats of diamonds from 4,623 kg of core, representing 26 drill holes. The results are being incorporated into a probability distribution analysis.

The Star kimberlite has been defined over a 4-sq.-km area and has a minimum thickness of 30 metres. According to preliminary resource estimates, the Star body exceeds 500 million tonnes of kimberlite.
