Second drill working at Abitibi prospect

A second drill is now working on the Jolin gold property in northwestern Quebec, where encouraging results were obtained from the initial 10 drill holes, Abitibi Metals Mines reports.

The company says that of the latest 11 holes, some were drilled to verify the existence of parallel zones while others were drilled to intersect a possible extension of the principal zone.

Among the better results from recent drilling:

Width Grade Hole (ft) (oz/t) 87-11 11.5 0.37 87-13 2.3 0.34 87-15 11.2 0.39 87-16 5 0.58

The company has been testing an area about 2,500 ft to the west of the original discovery for a possible extension of the mineralized zones. The other drill has been working to intersect the original gold-bearing structure at greater depth, between 400 ft and 800 ft (vertical).
