Seabright busy with projects at Moose River and Dufferin

The Westminer Canada subsidiary says it has completed the initial bulk sampling at the Touquoy zone in Moose River and results from several drill holes at the Dufferin property are now in.

At Touquoy, where Seabright is attempting to establish sufficient reserves for a small open pit operation, the final recovered grade from 18,000 tons of bulk sampled material was 0.029 oz gold per ton compared to an expected grade of 0.035 oz

After taking a close look at the project’s geology, the company is planning to establish a 3-level pit from which an additional 46,000 tons will be extracted and milled at Gays River. The projected recovered grade of milled rock is 0.035 oz.

Drill-indicated reserves at Touquoy are 1.1 million tons of grade 0.070 oz gold. Within these reserves, using a lower cut off of 0.073 and cutting all assays above 0.876 to this value, are 300,000 tons of proven and probable reserves grading of 0.105 oz gold.

“These reserves are beneath the proposed pit and are sufficient grade to justify detailed evaluation of alternate mining proposals,” said President Jim Lalor. “Grades seem to be increasing as we go deeper,” he said.

At the Dufferin property, Seabright recently intersected three stacked quartz saddle reefs containing visible gold, results from seven holes have just been released.

Five of these were designed to test the continuity of the upper and middle reefs of the west side of a fault and the other two were drilled on the east side of the fault to determine the presence of the reefs offset to the north, said Seabright.

All holes were successful in locating the reefs, although gold mineralization was not encountered in every hole, the company said.

West of the fault within the area of the earlier holes, highlights included 6.5 ft of grade 1.5 oz (uncut) and 5.4 ft of 0.4 oz (uncut). In the Middle Saddle which is about 164 ft below surface a 5.9 ft intersection grading 1.080 oz (uncut) was encountered.

In the Upper Saddle located 32 ft from surface, values included 10 ft of 0.184 oz. According to Seabright, both the upper and middle reefs have now been traced for a horizontal distance of 820 ft and the company is arranging financing for an underground program.
