SaskPower proposes new transmission line

SaskPower is proposing to build a new 230-kilovolt transmission line to service Shore Gold’s (SGF-T) diamond mine project within the Fort la Corne Provincial Forest.

“This line will help meet the needs of the mining industry in central Saskatchewan,” said SaskPower President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Watson in a press release. “SaskPower must ensure that adequate facilities are in place to meet the growing demands of industries as they develop within Saskatchewan.”

Depending on the route chosen, the line could be approximately 19 kilometres long.
