Mechanical stripping and rock sampling is under way on the Ore Chimney mine property, located eight miles north of Kaladar, Ont.
The program, financed by Sands Minerals Corp. of Toronto, is being done to better expose favorable zones of gold mineralization located both northeast and southwest of the old shaft.
Following this program, the company plans to drill a total of 4,000 ft of core.
President John Sadowski told The Northern Miner Sands is very interested in acquiring a significant interest in an already proven orebody in the immediate area of the Ore Chimney property. Because of the sensitive nature of these discussions he could not give details on the orebody or the property owners.
But The Northern Miner gathers it could be brought into production in short order.
Sands would endeavour to put the property into production as soon as possible if the discussions are successful, Mr Sadowski says.
The company currently has no producing properties.
Sands also has a 5,000-ft drilling program planned for a 24-claim property near Pickle Lake, Ont.
The company has 3,278,789 shares outstanding, trading on the Vancouver exchange this week at about 90 cents . Some 1.1 million warrants are also outstanding, trading this week at 1 cents . Two warrants and 52 cents entitle holders to one share before July 27.
