San Andreas continues drilling

A drill program by San Andreas Resources (VSE) is returning more encouraging assay results from the Prairie Creek mine property about 300 miles west of Yellowknife, N.W.T.

The company said drilling continues to confirm the presence of Mississippi Valley-type lead-zinc mineralization over a widespread area. Three holes encountered cavity-fill mineralization, and returned 34.1 ft. grading 6.1% lead, 6.62% zinc and 1.79 oz. silver per ton; 44.9 ft. of 7.33% lead, 16.7% zinc and 2.6 oz. silver; and 5.2 ft. of 8.6% lead, 12.11% zinc and 1.76 oz. silver.

Two holes encountered vein mineralization and returned 7.8 ft. of 38.64% lead, 3.44% zinc and 7.95 oz. silver; and 12.1 ft. of 27.75% lead, 0.58% zinc and 4.55 oz. silver.

The Prairie Creek was developed as a silver mine in the early 1980s. Construction was stopped just months before completion when the company financing the project ran into financial difficulties.
