Samax, Shiega renegotiate Nkroful development plans

Samax Gold (SMX-T) has begun drilling to test a high-grade vein system at its Nkroful gold project in southern Ghana.

The company can earn a 65% interest in the project from Shiega Resources (SHG-V) by completing a feasibility study. The companies had originally agreed to evaluate the development of an open-pit mine on the property, a project for which they had obtained a licence from the government. However, Samax and Shiega are currently renegotiating that deal to include a prefeasibility study for an underground operation.
