SAM drilling at Timmins gold bet

Southern Arizona Mining & Smelting (COATS) has acquired a 19-claim gold property in Mallard Twp., near Timmins, Ont., and a 10,000-ft. diamond drilling program is scheduled to get under way this month. A previous 6,000-ft. drilling program conducted in 1985 encountered results of 0.15 oz. gold per ton over 12.1 ft. at a vertical depth of 90 ft., and 0.24 oz. over 6 ft. at depths of 220 ft. Other intersections included 0.11 oz. over 2.5 ft. and 0.18 oz. over 2.9 ft. These results came from a structure known as the River zone.

In a separate zone, called the camp zone, a previous drill hole cut 0.16 oz. over 12.6 ft. at a vertical depth of 210 ft. Gold occurrences were first reported on the property back in 1933, the company said.
