Sage Hits Good Grades At Beardmore

Sage Gold (SGX-V, SGGDF-O) is making a bid to become a key player in northwestern Ontario through both the drill and land acquisitions.

The company recently announced it had significantly added to its land package within the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp and now has released results from its Solomon Pillars claim.

The highlight intercept from the program came in at 5.29 metres of 5.75 grams gold per tonne, including 1 metre of 17.27 grams gold.

Sage has drilled 26 drill holes for 3,800 metres at its Solomon Pillars project and announced the acquisition of the King Solomon Pillars claim — which adds an eastern extension to the property — at the end of October.

The fall exploration project also put holes into Paint Lake and Golden Extension at the Beardmore- Geraldton camp for a total of 8,133 metres drilled.

Sage says the fall program included prospecting, trenching, geophysics, geological mapping and extensive surface sampling.

In 1986, Inco completed a historic calculation that pegged resources at the King Solomon Pillars project area at 275,890 tons grading 4.3 grams gold for 34,760 oz. gold.

Sage says its own drilling in the area has managed to trace mineralized shoots down-plunge and suggests the potential for more shoots that were not recognized in the historic work on the property.

It says more drilling will be needed to test the model.

In Toronto on the drill results, Sage shares finished flat at 6¢ on 861,000 shares traded.
