Russian gold, gems focus of conference

The gold and diamond industry of Russia and the Central Asian republics will be the focus of a conference scheduled for Nov. 20-21 in London, England.

Hosted by the London-based Adam Smith Institute, the conference will examine investing and operating procedures in the precious metals and gems sectors of the former Soviet Union.

Topics scheduled for discussion include new legislative and regulatory developments, and sources of financing and financing strategies.

The conference will also feature discussions with representatives of the Sakha Republic, Magadan, Arkhangelsk, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as panel sessions covering exploration, development, processing and sales in the gold and diamond industry.
