RTZ shareholders approve BP deal

RTZ says it expects to complete payment for most of the BP Minerals’ assets, excluding the Olympic Dam nickel mine in Australia, on June 30. Dubbed the “sale of the century” by mining industry analysts, the acquisition makes RTZ the largest mining company in the world.

The company is financing the acquisition from its existing resources and newly arranged bank facilities totalling $3.1 billion.
