Azimut Exploration (TSXV: AZM; US-OTC: AZMTF) is stepping up drilling at its Elmer and Wabamisk projects in Quebec’s James Bay after a run of discoveries, president and CEO Jean-Marc Lulin said.
The company, long known as a target generator, is now pushing toward advanced exploration, resource growth and technical studies.
“We’re not considering ourselves as a project generator in the strict sense, but a true advanced explorer,” Lulin told The Northern Miner’s Western Editor, Henry Lazenby, during a recent industry event.
At Elmer, Azimut plans a 10,000-metre drill program to expand the Patwon gold zone. At Wabamisk, the company has drilled 86 holes for about 12,000 metres at the Fortin antimony-gold zone and traced mineralization over at least 1.8 km of strike. Azimut started a 5,000-metre follow-up program last month.
