Situated near the scene of a potentially large massive sulphide strike in Louvicourt Twp., the Simkar property, formerly known as the Louvicourt gold mine property, has been explored mainly for gold.
A geophysical survey prior to diamond drilling will focus on an area in which two massive sulphide intercepts of 8 ft and 10 ft in a 39-ft interval were reported in 1950.
The property’s northern sector is interpreted to include the same sequence of volcanic rocks which host former base metal producers, Societe Miniere Louvem (TSE) and Rainville Copper, as well as the recent Aur Resources (TSE) and Louvem discovery of a copper-zinc massive sulphide deposit.
The Aur/Louvem discovery is located three miles northeast of the Simkar property.
