Rogi exploration totals $1.8 million

Exploration work worth $1.8 million and the acquisition of two properties, White Lily and Leo Audet, highlighted the past year for Rogi Exploration (ME).

The White Lily property is located in northwestern Ontario. Fifteen holes representing 6,195 ft were drilled close to the exploration shaft along the main shear in January and February, 1988. One hole intersected 0.33 oz gold per ton over 4.5 ft, while another cut 0.1 oz over 4.8 ft.

The Leo Audet property is located in Barraute Twp., about 30 miles north of Val d’Or, Que. A drilling campaign was undertaken in January of this year.

At the Annamaque-Farraday gold-copper-zinc prospect in Bourlamaque Twp., located about eight miles southeast of Val d’Or, Rogi drilled 39 holes representing 28,502 ft during its 1987-88 campaign. Rogi can earn a 40% interest in the project from Aur Resources (TSE) by spending $5 million by Feb 28, 1990. (Rogi had spent $750,000 by the end of February, 1988.)

Significant copper-zinc mineralization was discovered on the Farraday property, with assays ranging up to 2.49% copper over 2 ft and 2.2% zinc over 8 ft.

From the Paramaque area of the Annamaque property, gold intersections of 0.22 oz over 2.5 ft, 1.06 oz over 3 ft and 0.31 oz over 2 ft were uncovered. A hole from the Goldora area cut 0.41 oz over 1.3 ft.

The company also has exploration plans for the Valco and Obaska properties. Rogi says it intends to spend more than $1 million on its 1988-89 exploration program.
