Robex has big expectations for Wili-Wili gold property in Mali

With a $2-million drill campaign underway on three of its 10 gold properties in Mali, Robex Resources (RBX-V) has rated Wili-Wili in western Mali as No. 1 on its priority list.

Results from the first trench, dug in the Fandou area of Wili-Wili, graded 2.29 grams gold per tonne over 13 metres. As well, two of three artisinal mining pits located in the trench graded of 1.96 grams gold per tonne over four metres and 3.58 grams over five metres.

Robex is currently digging more trenches in the Fandou area, in which pits will be dug 200 metres apart. The company plans to do a detailed soil-geochemistry survey to evaluate additional zones that have not been tested. In February the company will do some bulldozing to improve access to the zone so a drill program can begin at the end of March.

Robex is also focusing on its N’Golopene property, which is next to Resolute Mines‘ Syama mine in southern Mali. Syama, which has a measured and indicated gold resource of 41 million tonnes grading 3.2 grams gold per tonne, was acquired from Randgold Resources (GOLD-Q) in 2004. Robex believes a piece of the Syama deposit extends to N’Golopene and the company will soon begin a drill program over soil-geochemical and geophysics targets.

Another property to watch for is Mininko, also in southern Mali. In 2004, the Nampala target at Mininko was drilled by Golden Star Resources (GSC-T, CSS-A), including13 reverse circulation drill holes totalling 2,228 metres and six diamond drill holes for a further 528 metres. There was gold mineralization in all holes including some higher grades such as 26 grams gold per tonne over 13 metres, which included 4.1 grams gold over 10 metres. Robex hopes to have a resource estimate for Mininko by early 2007.

Robex believes it has an advantage over other companies exploring in Mali because its permanent exploration office is located in the country with four geologists plus field staff and two satellite offices.

Robex shares were trading at 23 apiece Wednesday on a volume of 100,000.
