Risk, challenge topics of B.C. conference

A conference outlining the political, financial and regulatory risks of international mining ventures will be hosted by Price Waterhouse from Oct. 9 to 10 at the Waterfront Centre Hotel in Vancouver, B.C.

Entitled “World Mining Solutions,” the conference features both plenary and specialized sections.

Plenary sessions include: changing political, economic and social climates; business risks; changes to regulatory and accounting procedures and their impact on raising capital; and an analysis of investing in French Africa, Indonesia, Mexico and southern Africa.

Special sections include: security regulations; South American taxes; communication problems; hedging; negotiating; financial reporting; and fraud prevention.
