Rio Tinto Alcan cutting 120 to 140 head office jobs in Montreal

Rio Tinto Alcan, a subsidiary of Rio Tinto (RTP-N), is cutting 120 to140 jobs at its Montreal head office, the Canadian Press reports.

The report says that the downsizing will be achieved through layoffs, job reassignments, and leaving vacancies unfilled. Head office workforce is 830 people.

The job reductions will start in mid-April.
