Results tabled for PFN’s River Valley

Vancouver — With results in for 73 of the 98 holes drilled during a fourth round of drilling by Pacific North West Capital (PFN-T) at the River Valley platinum-palladium project, the Dana Lake South zone now extends over a 300 metre strike length to depths reaching 290 metres.

The latest results continue to show higher-grade zones within a broad envelope of lower-grade mineralization. The assays from ten new holes targeting the Dana Lake South zone include:

  • Hole 27 — 31 metres grading 0.37 gram platinum, 0.94 gram palladium and 0.07 gram gold per tonne.
  • Hole 28 — 73.5 metres grading 0.43 gram platinum, 1.45 gram palladium and 0.07 gram gold,
  • Hole 29 — 11.5 metres grading 0.37 gram platinum, 1.14 gram palladium and 0.06 gram gold,
  • Hole 32 — 23.5 metres grading 0.27 gram platinum, 0.88 gram palladium, 0.06 gram gold,
  • Hole 33 — 23.5 metres grading 0.27 gram platinum, 0.81 gram palladium, 0.06 gram gold,
  • Hole 34 — 45.5 metres grading 0.46 gram platinum, 1.5 gram palladium, 0.1 gram gold,
  • Hole 36 — 46 metres grading 0.23 gram platinum, 0.73 gram palladium and 0.05 gram gold.

Holes 30, 31 and 35, returned either anomalous values or less than 2 grams combined platinum-palladium-gold over 2 metres. Mineralization at the zone remains open to the north, south and at depth.

Moving 1.3-km southeast in the Lismer Ridge area, assay results from the latest ten holes continue to show broad low-grade values. Highlights include:

  • Hole 28 — 25.5 metres grading 0.3 gram platinum, 0.83 gram palladium and 0.03 gram gold,
  • Hole 31 — 46.4 metres grading 0.3 gram platinum, 0.73 gram palladium, 0.06 gram gold,
  • Hole 34 — 19 metres grading 0.4 gram platinum, 1.03 gram palladium, 0.06 gram gold,
  • Hole 35 — 8 metres grading 0.44 gram platinum, 1.29 grams palladium, and 0.06 gram gold,
  • Hole 36 — 59.5 metres grading 0.29 gram platinum, 0.79 gram palladium, 0.04 gram gold,
  • Hole 37 — 45.5 metres grading 0.34 gram platinum, 0.93 gram palladium and 0.06 gram gold.

The Lismer Ridge contact zone remains open to the northwest, southeast and at depth.

A mineral resource study is currently under way using the assay data from the 138 holes drilled to date on the property. The study, which is expected by September, will include separate calculations for the Dana Lake North, Dana Lake South and Lismers Ridge zones.

Located 60km northeast of Sudbury, the property overlies the northern part of the layered mafic River Valley intrusion. The latest drill program was part of a $2 million exploration budget approved by the junior’s joint venture partner, Anglo Platinum (Amplats). Anglo Platinum, a traded subsidiary of South Africa’s Anglo-American (AAUK-Q), can earn a 65% stake in the property by funding it through to production.
