Twelve of 15 holes recently sunk by juniorRessources Appalaches (APP-M) have cut several intervals returning more than 0.75% nickel and 0.5% copper on the B-20 nickel-copper-cobalt property near Port-Cartier, Que.
The 15-hole, 1,500-metre drilling program was aimed at testing a shallow, northeasterly trending geophysical conductor coincident with a known surface showing. The holes cut multiple horizons of mineralized pyroxenite over more than 1 km. Individual horizons were up to 50 metres thick.
Better results include:
- Hole 4 0.43% nickel over 12.7 metres;
- Hole 6 0.33% nickel over 30.1 metres and 0.22% nickel over 53.2 metres;
- Hole 7 0.33% nickel over 12.2 metres; and
- Hole 10 0.66% nickel over 3.9 metres.
Six of the holes returned more than 1% nickel over widths ranging between 0.59 metre and 2.3 metres.
The holes cut disseminated sulphides and successive massive-sulphide concentrations separated by thin, unmineralized horizons.
The company plans to further explore the northeastern part of the property and is considering a deeper drilling campaign.
