Reserves have topped the 1-million-ton mark at Stroud Resource’s (TSE) Hislop Twp. gold project near Timmins, Ont., after recent drilling intersected high gold values in the Creek zone. According to Stroud President George Coburn, reserves at the creek zone have increased to 1.1 million tons grading 0.19 oz. gold per ton while the main zone, 1,600 ft. southeast, contains 102,000 tons at 0.17 oz. More drilling is required before reserves can be assigned to the new V2 zone, lying due east of the creek zone.
Drilling on what appears to be an eastern extension of the Creek zone intersected an estimated true width of 17.7 ft. grading 0.22 oz. Reserve estimates from this extension were calculated into the total reserves for the Creek zone.
Stroud recently acquired the outstanding 50% of the Hislop property, previously owned by a subsidiary of Chevron (NYSE), and has taken over as operator of the project.
