Reject settlement at Horne division

Noranda Minerals’ Horne Division said early in the week its employees, members of the Confederation of National Trade Unions, CNTU, had voted 66% in favor of rejecting a proposal for settlement recommended by a Quebec ministry of labor conciliation officer. The employees have given the union a strike mandate. Meanwhile, Noranda says, the copper smelter continues to operate at pl anned capacity. It adds it understands the union will be evaluating the situation.
