Drilling on the TQY property north of Yellowknife, N.W.T., is returning gold values for Gitennes Explorations (ASE).
The company, which is earning a half interest from Tanqueray Resources (ASE), reports that assay results range up to 0.91 oz. gold per ton over 3.28 ft. in hole 7.
The 7-hole program is testing a 1,280-ft.-long segment of folded iron formation on the Red Badger zone. Most of the zone is covered by sand and muskeg, although it is believed to be at least 2,790 ft. long, based on geophysical and surface work.
Section-drilling, to begin in February, will include both stepout and infill holes.
Work is also planned on Gitennes’ wholly owned Fishhook property, which is adjacent to the TQY. A strong magnetic and electromagnetic signature extends for about 2,950 ft., roughly parallel to the Red Badger.
Drill results from Red Badger are as follows:
Hole Interval Width Gold
(ft.) (ft.) (oz./ton)
RB94-02 102.2-111.5 9.3 0.22
RB94-03 137.8-150.4 12.6 0.34
RB94-04 110.5-113.8 3.3 0.13
RB94-06 98.7-103.3 4.6 0.19
132.4-146.1 13.7 0.27
135.3-140.4 5.1 0.58
RB94-07 126.4-132.8 6.4 0.16
144.0-147.3 3.3 0.11
148.0-168.6 20.6 0.24
incl. 150.9-154.2 3.3 0.91
186.1-189.4 3.3 0.37
Holes 1 and 5 are believed to have missed the zone as a result of faulting.
