Record output in September for Galactic

Galactic Resources reports record monthly gold production in September of more than 10,000 oz, from the Summitville gold mine in Colorado.

It brings total production since the June initiation of commercial leaching to approximately 34,000 oz gold and 41,000 oz silver.

Chairman Robert Friedland says the September production was about 15% higher than August output, despite unseasonably heavy rainfall and snowfall.

The 1,550,000 tons of mined ore on the heap leach pad to date contained approximately 90,000 oz of gold, of which a total of about 76,500 oz will be recoverable through continued leaching, Mr Friedland said.

Mining, crushing, loading and pad expansion activities are continuing on a 24-hour-per-day basis in an effort to complete the loading of between two and 2 1/2 million tons of ore under leach this year, which would contain up to 120,000 oz of recoverable gold.
