Record Inco tax

In the 1988 taxation year, Inco says it will pay $156 million in mining and income taxes to the province. In 1986, for example, the company’s provincial tax bill came to $6.3 million.

Mining tax payments, which represent a form of resource royalty in Manitoba, totalled $138.6 million. Another $17 million was paid as provincial corporate income tax, Inco says.
