The Ivan copper mine in northern Chile was slow to get on track, but owner Minera Rayrock (TSE) has announced that the mine operated at 97.7% of its design capacity in September, and 100% in October.
The company now expects to maintain a steady production level of 10,000 tonnes per year.
Minera Rayrock will expand its solvent-extraction/electrowinning plant in the coming year and expects to see a 20% increase in production of copper cathode.
At the company’s Bellavista gold project, 110 km northwest of San Jose, Costa Rica, final feasibility work is expected to wind down in the first quarter of 1996. The preliminary resource is just under 2 million oz. gold.
