Based on 27,000 ft of drilling, the deposit has a northerly trend and westerly dip. Mineralized zones within the deposit display a complex distribution of steeply dipping and sub-horizontal zones.
The deposit, which hosts both oxide and sulphide-bearing gold mineralization, has been drilled to a depth of 900 ft. At this depth, oxide mineralization across 315 ft assayed 0.083 oz gold per ton followed by sulphide-bearing core which assayed 0.4 oz gold across 30 ft. The sulphide material is highly refractory, Rayrock says.
A major drill program designed to define the deposit will begin in early 1990.
