Surface grab sampling on properties in the Manitou Lake area south of Dryden, Ont., have returned high molybdenum values for Radisson Mining Resources (RDS-V).
Radisson is pursuing early-stage prospecting on the four land packages, all in the area west of Highway 812, about 100 km south of Dryden.
At the Grave Lake property, where molybdenum showings occur along with gold and copper, mainly in quartz veins in basalt or gabbro, three new showings yielded grab samples with molybdenum grades of 0.2% to 0.4%, plus low gold and copper grades. Samples from two other showings, both previously known, showed molybdenum grades between 0.03% and 1%.
At the Highway property, straddling Highway 812 about 10 km northeast of Grave Lake, molybdenite-pyrite occurrences in granodiorite showed grades of 0.9% to 4.3%, with trace gold and copper. The mineralization is in northeast-striking veins and pegmatite dykes in the granodiorite.
Five surface showings on the Olsen Bay property on the north side of Lower Manitou Lake showed molybdenum values between 0.05% and 0.39%, with negligible gold and copper content.
