Black Bay Uranium changed its name to New Black Bay Minerals in 1974, then changed its name to Thomson Oilfield Services in 1975. According to the Alberta corporate registry, Thomson Oilfield Services amalgamated and continued as Atco Drilling Ltd. on April 1, 1980. This company was continued as Atco Ltd. in March of 1984 under the Business Corporations Act of Alberta. Shares of Atco Ltd. were listed for trading on the Alberta Stock Exchange on Sept 24, 1984.
