Queenston, Strike commence drilling

A $230,000 drill program began recently at the Queenston Mining (TSE) and Strike Minerals (CDN) base metal joint venture in Robertson Twp. 14 km north of Matachewan, Ont.

Having outlined preliminary reserves of 400,000 tons grading 1.1% copper and 3.8% zinc within a massive sulphide lens, the joint venture expects to complete 5,000 ft. of drilling in the vicinity of the deposit.

As the lens has been traced for 1,300 ft., drilling will test for extensions of the known mineralization in the discovery area and other accumulations along strike.

As owner of a 60% interest in the 135-claim property, Queenston is financing this exploration phase on behalf of Strike which owns the remaining 40%. In return, Strike has agreed to accelerate Queenston’s earn-in on the adjoining Baden Twp. gold property.
