Queens offers short course

A short course on mining and exploration, designed for professionals working in the investment industry, will be held from Oct. 4 to 8 at Queens University in Kingston, Ont.

The course will be taught by professors from the departments of geology and mining, who will use case studies. Topics scheduled for discussion will cover the basics of geology (ore-forming processes, sampling, reserve estimation), mining and mineral processing (flotation, leaching, concentration and solvent extraction), and project evaluation.
